Puna Aquafarms is a family owned and operated farm that is located on the eastern side where fresh mountain spring water runs deep underneath the ground 24/7. Because of this we are able to source fresh water from our wells and provide it to our tiered ponds where our fish are able to be grown and harvested year-round.
Puna Aquafarms utilizes multiple ponds that creates a cascading effect allowing for continuous flow. The water is never recirculated but instead travels to a Lo’i where plants such as taro are grown. This nutrient rich water is then distributed to our other local grown crops such as avocados, plumerias, and coconut trees.
Property Features
Puna Aquafarm has made going green with renewable and sustaining energies a top priority through its employment of both windmills and solar panels for all electrical and aeration needs. Our water is untouched with minimal interference or mechanical processing and has been certified to be naturally free of heavy metal, chemical, or excessive mineral content.
